Love this range/oven

I really like this range/oven so much, that I built my whole kitchen around it. The gas burners are different sizes for different pots and pans and cooking needs. But the thing I really love is the griddle built into the middle of the stove. It has an oval shaped burner, so the entire griddle heats evenly. Great for pancakes, french toast, grilled cheese, grilled vegetables and grilling meats. The color "Slate" offered by GE is great, it doesn't show finger prints. The oven bakes very well while maintaining the exact temperature. I love that it's a low profile back as all the knobs and controls are in the front. Great slide in stove and seems to be built really well.

I bought this stove new and had it hooked up and it didn't work abc where house called a repair man and he said he ordered parts for it and he has never even looked at it. I have not been able to use the stove for 3 weeks. I have wanted to buy more GE products but going by what's happening with the stove I'm changing my mind. I tried calling customer service but the lady I talked to had no idea how to fix the problem. We reviewed this range many times before choosing it. We also went to several appliance outlet stores to do comparisons and couldn't find one that could even compete with this one. We are very impressed with the controls, with the layout of the cook surface. We love the fast boil burners and the central griddle. We have cooked several meals already, using the stovetop and the oven and love this appliance. It looks great. One thing we truly love is the ability to lock the push button controls. We have a 2-year old granddaughter who loves to push buttons. This is a great safety feature that we definitely need.

The stovetop was not well designed. There are 2 power burners in the front, which accommodate very large pots. When used, it is hard to reach over or around in order to use the small burners in the back. It would have been nice to have a couple of medium sized burners, which are more commonly used.

Why do I love this stove? It has all the features I need to cook a great meal. Burners light easily. The oven is spacious and has an excellent oven light. The center grill is fabulous for our weekend pancakes. The large front burners boil water very quickly. The surface is easy to clean and does not show fingerprints. Nice solid control knobs that are removable for easy cleaning. The only change I would make would be to switch one of the large front burners to the rear. One smaller burner in the front would be better for making sauces that require a lot of stirring.

I purchased this GE Range through Canadian Appliance Source- worst customer service ever- only to find out the oven doesn't work. 3 yrs later, 4 service calls the oven still doesn't work and here we are 3rd holiday in with no working oven. When I purchased this it was $2199 and have not been able to use the oven ONCE. Extremely disappointed that GE has not rectified this yet and replaced the unit. It ha a faulty control panel which leave the igniter on sending no relay to shut off and over heats and has a faulty probe control.

All burners are quick and easy to light. Middle burner with griddle has been nice for a quick crust on burritos or to make pancakes. Oven has been solid and we are looking forward to using the steam clean option when it gets dirty. The bottom drawer is smaller than our previous electric GE range but still holds plenty of pans. Not pleased with increased height and depth.

Does not have the streamlined look of our previous GE, and does not provide the seamless integrated kitchen look we enjoyed. Extra depth makes it difficult to reach the over the stove microwave. Gaps on each side will hopefully be remedied by Amazon gap covers. Do like the fingerprint resistant finish. Nothing special except for the finish!
